Suspended! No MMDA Number Coding on October 30, November 1 and 2

With the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections and the Undas holidays, the Number Coding scheme of the MMDA has just been declared suspended. On October 30, November 1, and November 2, motorists will be able to use their vehicles in and around MMDA Coding cities without fear of being apprehended. The City of Makati, though, has yet to announce if it will follow suit with the Coding suspension.

Three non-working days have been declared for next week, namely October 30, which is the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, and November 1 and 2, All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day which is more commonly referred to in the Philippines as Undas.

Normally, the MMDA Number Coding scheme is implemented daily, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Window hours are when “coded” vehicles can freely travel without being apprehended and this is between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

As most of us know by now, the City of Makati, though supposedly under the jurisdiction of the MMDA, has yet to announce if it will also suspend the implementation of the Number Coding scheme in the City, and if they do, on which dates. Should that information come in, we’ll definitely make sure to update you, our readers.

UPDATE AS OF 26 OCTOBER 2023

And here we have it, the City of Makati has already announced that they will be suspending the Number Coding Scheme on October 30, November 1, and November 2. These are 3 holidays that were declared by the Philippine Government; please note that October 31 and November 3 are not holidays, and Coding in Makati will be implemented on these dates.
