In the past few weeks, Suzuki’s been teasing the all-new Celerio’s arrival in the Philippines. The car was even spotted parked in a lot somewhere in the Batangas port area.
Well, speculations can finally be put to rest as the 2022 Celerio has just been launched; and here’s what the brand’s newest baby hatchback offers.

Table of Contents
At first glance, it’s evident that the 2022 Celerio has gone through a major makeover. The whole design philosophy seems to lean towards a more “sculpted” and rounded look. Although it must be said that it sort of resembles its S-Presso sibling as well. The latest Celerio has sweeping round front headlights, droplet-style taillights, and a new signature grille. Front fog lamps and black 15-inch alloy wheels round out the new look.
Interior
Inside, Suzuki continues on with the same sculpted design. The twin-slot center AC vents feature chrome accents, while the barrel-type side air vents with silver-painted trims add a bit of “sportiness” to the otherwise functional and simple interior. It also has a 7-inch Sony touchscreen infotainment system with WebLink mobile connectivity as standard.
Engine
Under the hood of the Celerio is a 998-cc (1-liter) 3-cylinder engine that features the brand’s Dual Jet technology. It puts out 66hp at 5,500 rpm and 89 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or Suzuki’s clutchless manual, the AGS, or Auto Gear Shift.
The manufacturer also claims that the 2022 Celerio can do up to 28.25km/L.
Safety
With regard to safety, Suzuki is not taking any chances with this new Celerio. It has high-tensile steel ensuring that it complies with all global crash safety regulations. It also comes with dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, and reverse parking sensors as standard. The top-of-the-line AGS variant also adds Hill Hold Control.
