Tamiya Philippines Inc. is set to invest (PHP 1.5 Billion) in an expansion of its plastic mold fabrication manufacturing operation in the country, specifically in Cebu.
Tamiya broke ground on the new factory building last March 18, 2022. Tamiya says this new expansion will enable the brand to increase its production output by 5 percent annually for three years, and 20 percent in succeeding years, this of course is still dependent on demand.
Tamiya is currently manufacturing various types of plastic models and similar products, mold fabrication and related services, printed materials, and provision of other printing services at the Cebu Light Industrial Park – Special Economic Zone (CLIP-SEZ) which is under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority.
Currently, the company’s annual export is at $23.241 Million. Japan accounts for 65 percent of the export share followed by the USA, Germany, United Kingdom, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
