SAIC PH (distributor of MG PH) hosted a media Thanksgiving yesterday, and apart from the usual celebrations the brand chose to unveil 2 new vehicles that are set to make their way to the Philippines. We had already written about the Cyberster EV sports car, and now we can set our eyes on the MG One Crossover.
MG One Crossover
The MG One falls under the compact crossover segment and size-wise competes against the Changan CS55 Plus and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. Looks-wise the One has sportier and aggressive design cues compared to the other models like the HS or ZST, although it still very much looks like an MG.
It has a big sporty front grille flanked by sharp full LED headlights, while at the side it rides on massive 19-inch alloy wheels, at the rear are full-LED taillight clusters, and finally the One that was displayed came with a black and red two-tone design.
Inside the One is a sporty but more upscale interior, it’s nice to see the brand make an effort to add more soft-touch materials in the cabin. Also evident is the very imposing digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, which hopefully will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
No engine specs have been confirmed just yet, but the One in other markets is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes 181 HP. Pricing should be interesting though, and we can assume that it will cost around 1.3-1.4 Million Pesos once officially launched.
