Initially unveiled for the Chinese market in June 2023, the new Equinox features Chevy’s bold, upright design language seen in models like the Traverse and Trailblazer. Notable exterior changes include a broader grille, distinctive running lamps, a forward-canted C-pillar, and sleeker taillights, contributing to a modern and edgy appearance.

Inside, the Equinox receives a revamped interior layout, adopting a dual-screen setup with an 11-inch driver display and an 11.3-inch infotainment display. A column-mounted electronic lever replaces the shift stalk, while tactile controls for climate settings and heated seats remain intact, providing a harmonious blend of modernity and familiarity.

Chevrolet prioritizes safety with its comprehensive Chevy Safety Assist suite, offering features such as enhanced lane-keep assist, auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot alert, and more. Notably, these safety features are now included as standard, eliminating the need for costly option packages.

The highlight for 2025 is the introduction of the Equinox Activ trim, featuring a rugged design with black trim, a unique fascia, and 17-inch all-terrain tires. Inside, the Activ boasts Evotex material with suede microfiber seating surfaces, catering to those seeking a more adventurous aesthetic.

Under the hood, the Equinox is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 175 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Front-wheel-drive models are equipped with a CVT, while all-wheel-drive versions feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and a torque bump to 275 Nm. The inclusion of a mode-selector dial for Normal, Snow, and Off-Road drive modes (exclusive to AWD models) enhances the vehicle’s adaptability.
With its broad-shouldered, athletic appearance exuding confidence and versatility, the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox aims to compete fiercely in the SUV/crossover market.
