The TGR Philippine Cup returns for its 12th season, debuting a new race car, the Tamaraw OMR, during its opening weekend on March 13 to 15, 2026. The first round will be held on a 2.4-kilometer street circuit in Riverpark, General Trias, Cavite. Admission is free.

Organized by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), the TGR Philippine Cup has been the company’s premier one-make racing series since 2014. The event aims to make motorsports more accessible to Filipino fans. In 2025, more than 12,000 spectators attended the Cavite leg in Bacoor, which featured races, driving exhibitions, musical performances, and vehicle displays.

For 2026, TMP adds the Next Generation Tamaraw OMR to its lineup of locally produced race cars, joining the Vios OMR. As a one-make race series, identical Tamaraw OMR units will compete in Sprint Races, putting the focus on driver skill.

The Tamaraw OMR was first shown as the Tamaraw Racing Concept in 2025 and underwent further track development. In February 2026, TMP made the Tamaraw Race Car Package available to racers and teams.

The new model will compete under the Tamaraw Racing Class. Driving for Team Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines are TMP President Masando Hashimoto and racers Chenee Jimenez, Alex Lim (also known as Banaweboy), Justin Buzzhype, Enzo Ison, and Will Lucas. They will face former Vios Cup champions from other teams, including Iñigo Anton, Dominic Ochoa, Alain Alzona, and Jesse Garcia.

The Sporting Class, Super Sporting Class, and Legacy Class will continue to run the Vios OMR in Sprint Races. A total of 30 racers are expected to compete in the 2026 season opener.

The Riverpark circuit, about 35 minutes from Metro Manila, will host the opening round.

Aside from the races, TMP will display Toyota GR performance models, Lexus vehicles, and upcoming Toyota models, including the RAV4 and Urban Cruiser.

An e-Motorsports area will allow visitors to try sim racing rigs. Official GR merchandise will also be available for purchase.

Toyota car club members will have access to an exclusive track day at the Riverpark circuit using their own performance vehicles.

Hashimoto said the addition of new venues in Cavite and Batangas adds variety to the season. He also shared that he recently drove the Tamaraw OMR on a drift track in Pampanga and looks forward to more people experiencing the car’s performance.

Free passes are available through the event website. Race Weekend 1 will also be streamed live starting at 9:00 a.m. on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube pages.
