Third leg of TGR Philippine Cup to be held at BRC on August 15

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) will hold the third race weekend of the 2026 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) in Rosario, Batangas, on August 15. Admission is free and open to the public.

Race Weekend 3 marks the TGR Philippine Cup’s first visit to BRC, the country’s oldest permanent car racetrack.

The Super Sporting, Sporting, and Legacy classes will compete head-to-head in the Vios one-make racecar (OMR), while the Tamaraw class will race in the Tamaraw OMR, on a technical track organizers said will test driver skill.

The Vios OMRs will continue running on E20 fuel, a 20% bio-ethanol blend, while the Tamaraw OMRs will remain powered by B5 fuel, a 5% coco-biodiesel blend. The use of low-carbon biofuels began in the previous race weekend and aims to support national energy security and the development of biofuel supply chains through collaboration with stakeholders, including the agricultural sector.

TMP Senior Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chua-Lim said BRC presents a new challenge for the series’ drivers. “As a new track for our Vios OMRs and Tamaraw OMRs, BRC will be an exciting challenge for our drivers. Our aim at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has always been to provide opportunities for racers to push the limits for better and to bring racing closer to different car communities. We hope this new racetrack will reignite the passion of our racers and existing fans, and attract the interest of people getting into motorsports,” Chua-Lim said.

TMP First Vice President for Corporate Affairs Josephine Villanueva said the company has received positive feedback on the biofuels’ performance and is studying their continued use in future events. “We have received positive feedback from the racers on how biodiesel and bioethanol blend fuels perform on extreme conditions, so we are further studying the feasibility of continuing the use of these low-carbon fuels for our succeeding motorsports events. While we continue to face energy security issues in the country, we hope this initiative will result in improved knowledge on the positive benefits of higher biofuel blends for wider use of motorists,” Villanueva said.
