Grab to pay Php10 million in penalties for Php2 per-minute charge

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is penalizing Grab for imposing a Php2 per-minute charge to their passengers. The ride-hailing service is ordered to pay a Php10 million fine and reimburse their passengers through rebates.

Once the order is finalized, Grab is required to immediately pay the penalty and pay back riders within 20 days.

Grab will reserve comment until it has “fully studied and analyzed the matter” with its legal team — Public Affairs Head Leo Gonzales.

Back in April, the board suspended the Php2 per-minute charge when the ride-hailing operator failed to inform their riders of the policy.

  1. Do you know that it is almost impossible to get a normal rate on Grab Car? All you see is “higher fare due to high demand”
    1. is this a new gimmick from GRAB so that riders can earn more?
    2. before the Grab-Uber joint, there used to be a lot of riders everywhere but now it’s always limited
    3. LTFRB is only focusing on finding flaws on Grab instead of giving solutions, if riders cannot earn money…there is no point for them to drive

  2. sa sobrang pasaway ng grab 10m lang? ang bait nyo nman.
