The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a warning to Uber and Grab citing unreasonable surges in their rates, especially during the holiday season.
In a press release posted on their Facebook page, the LTFRB warns Uber and Grab “not to take advantage of the holiday season as a reason to unreasonably surge their respective rates.” The agency said that they have received complaints where the surge ranges from Php2,000USD 34INR 2,891EUR 33CNY 248 to Php28,000USD 475INR 40,468EUR 458CNY 3,472.
The LTFRB also added that they have not been consulted on Uber’s “Upfront fares based on predictions,” and have the right to suspend or cancel accreditation if the unreasonable surges persist.
The LTFRB advises the public to report any violation through their 24/7 hotline at 1342 or SMS/Viber at 0917-550-1342 or 0998-550-1342. Passengers may also email pictures of screenshots of said incidents at [email protected].

good one! I think at most 2x lang ang surge dapat. more than that parang wala nang katwiran kahit gaano pa man ka traffic o malayo o anong dahilan

funny how convinience became too expensive. heavy traffic is the culprit. uber and grab will not save your souls from the hellish roads of the city esp. this season.
