Good news for commuters! The Department of Transportation (DOTr), is extending its free ride program until June 30, 2022.

This announcement was made on the DOTr MRT-3 Facebook page and marks the third consecutive month that the MRT-3 will be offering free rides. It was first launched with a March 28-April 30 duration, then was extended from April 30-May30.

According to the post, the transport agency had this to say about the free ride program Extention: “To continue providing assistance to the riding public and help ease their financial burden amid inflation and rising fuel prices, the MRT-3 implemented the free ride program, which was set to originally end on 30 April 2022 and later on 30 May 2022.
The free ride will also allow the MRT-3 to further test its capacity and performance in accommodating up to or more than 350,000 passengers.”
The free ride program schedules start at 4:40 am until 10:10 pm.
