Aprilia has just launched the long-awaited SR GT in the Philippines. It fuses the Italian brand’s signature sporty style with the practicality of a bike you can use in the city every day.
Inspired by bigger enduro bikes, the Aprilia SR GT has long-travel suspension and increased ground clearance that makes traversing over obstacles easier. With its upright riding position and wide, naked handle bar, it also offers better control on whatever the road surface or condition.
The SR GT has a full three-element light cluster. It also features a suspended windscreen and the handlebar fixed to the bike through a die-cast aluminum riser with the Aprilia logo. The instrument cluster is fully-digital with a large LCD display providing all the data. The Aprilia MIA connectivity system is optional and allows for smartphone integration via Bluetooth. The instrument panel will also be able to display incoming calls and messages, or play music.
Powering the SR GT 200 is a brand-new 174 cc single-cylinder that puts out 17.67 horsepower 16.5 Nm of torque. This is paired with a CVT transmission. To further improve fuel economy, the SR GT is equipped with an idle start-stop system. The system is called the RISS (Regulator Inverter Start & Stop System), the Start & Stop system automatically switches off the engine 1 to 5 seconds after the scooter has stopped. A slight twist of the throttle is enough to instantly re-ignite the engine, in total silence, as there is no traditional starter. The 9-liter fuel tank capacity translates to around a 350-kilometer cruising range.
The 2022 Aprilia SR GT 200 retails for PHP 219,000 for the standard version, and PHP 227,000 for the Sport variant which adds additional aesthetic touches.
