
GAC Philippines has officially introduced the AION UT, a compact electric hatchback set to enter the local market in 2026.
The AION UT seats five and is built on a dedicated EV platform with a 2,750mm wheelbase, which is longer than competing models in its segment, providing 905mm of rear legroom. GAC positions the vehicle for urban driving, noting its compact exterior but relatively spacious interior.

The Elite variant runs a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 100 kW (134 hp) and 180 Nm of torque. It carries a 47.1 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery and supports DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The vehicle also has Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing it to power external devices.

Standard driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and a 360-degree Surround View Camera. The cabin has a 2.1-meter V-shape side curtain airbag and a Drive-off Assist system to prevent accidental acceleration.

Inside, the dash carries an 8.88-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin has 24 storage compartments and 440 liters of boot space, expandable with the rear seats folded. The car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/60 R16 tires.

The AION UT Elite FWD has a standard retail price of PHP 1,068,000 but is available at an introductory price of PHP 998,000 until June 30, 2026. Color options are Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, and a two-tone Rococo White with Emerald Green roof. Interior comes in black.

Reservations are open at any of GAC’s 30 dealerships nationwide. EV models come with an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/200,000 km warranty covering the battery and electric drive system. All buyers receive two years of free roadside assistance.
