GAC International Philippines has announced the upcoming arrival of the AION UT, a battery-electric hatchback designed for urban Filipino drivers seeking a compact EV with a spacious interior and modern features.

The AION UT follows what GAC calls a “Milanese Aesthetics” design approach, drawing from European fashion and art. Notable exterior details include distinctive headlights and a color lineup of Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, and Seine Silver, along with a two-tone Rococo White and Emerald Green option. The model has already launched in Australia, Thailand, Europe, and Latin America.

Despite its compact size, the five-seater hatchback is built on a 2,750mm wheelbase, which GAC says gives it more interior room than its exterior dimensions suggest. The rear seats fold flat to expand cargo capacity, making it suitable for both daily commutes and longer trips.

On the technical side, the AION UT features GAC’s “Magazine Battery” system, a high-strength steel body, and fast charging that can bring the battery from 30% to 80% in about 24 minutes. Further specifications are expected to be released closer to launch.

GAC Philippines backs its EV lineup with an 8-year or 160,000km vehicle warranty, plus an 8-year or 200,000km warranty covering the core electric drivetrain components. All new owners receive two years of complimentary roadside assistance. The company currently operates 30 dealerships nationwide, supported by a dedicated parts warehouse in Manila.

GAC, which has maintained manufacturing partnerships with Toyota and Honda for over two decades, says those collaborations inform the quality standards applied across its vehicle lineup.

Customers interested in the AION UT can visit any GAC dealership to learn more or place a pre-reservation before the official launch date.
