Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has launched the New City, New City Hatchback, and New Civic RS e:HEV. The company said the lineup is meant to strengthen its sporty roots and improve models already popular with Filipino buyers.

HCPI introduced the vehicles at an activation titled “Beyond Sensational,” where customers could see the models up close. Visitors could browse the display and get an “Experience Pass” to learn more about the updated vehicles. HCPI also offered attendees coffee, pastries, and exclusive merchandise. All three models are now available at the 41 Honda Cars dealerships nationwide.

New Honda City

Honda introduced the City nameplate in the Philippines in 1996, and it has been on sale for 30 years. Now in its fifth generation, the New City has a sharper, more refined design aimed at professionals looking for a rewarding daily drive.

New Honda City Hatchback

HCPI launched the City Hatchback in 2021. It has a sportier look and more versatility for customers with active lifestyles.

Both models get complementary updates that modernize their look while keeping Honda’s sporty character.

Exterior changes on both include new 16-inch alloy wheels, a new clear-lens taillight design, and a new connected headlight profile that HCPI says improves night-time visibility. The New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING adds a new trunk accent and High Gloss Black door handles. The New City Hatchback 1.5 RS CVT gets a refreshed rear bumper design.

Inside, the New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING and the New City Hatchback now have a larger 10-inch Display Audio system. Updated seat trims and rear USB-C charging ports are standard on both RS variants of the City and City Hatchback, as well as the City 1.5 V CVT Honda SENSING.

Both models use a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Output is 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency is rated at 25.17 km/L for the City and 25 km/L for the City Hatchback, based on the Honda-AAP Eco Run 2021.

Honda SENSING, the brand’s driver-assist system, is standard on the New City in S, V, and RS variants and on the New City Hatchback. This supports Honda’s global goal of zero traffic collision fatalities involving its automobiles and motorcycles by 2050. The New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING and the New City Hatchback also now come with Rain-Sensing Wipers, the Honda LaneWatch Camera (LWC), and an Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror.
