The newest portion of the South Luzon Expressway, specifically the Elevation Extension Project has just been inaugurated by none other than President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and SMC President Ramon Ang.
President Duterte was quick to highlight the importance of the continuing effort to open more roadways as the economy is slowly opening up more to reel in the negative effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused.
President Duterte also reiterated his administration’s steadfast and continuous support in starting, completing and opening more infrastructure projects that’ll help the everyday Filipino in their daily commutes.
Meanwhile, SMC President Ramon Ang had this to say about the newest addition to the SLEX Elevated Expansion Project.
“Since we soft-opened the southbound SLEX Extension last December 10, 2021 motorists in the south have seen a major improvement in the traffic situation. It has provided relief to thousands of motorists who go home every day to Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas. With both the southbound and northbound section of the SLEX Extension now fully operational, travel to and from the south is easier and faster than ever,”
This is just the latest addition to the planned 19-kilometer roadway system that aims to help decongest the notorious Metro Manila traffic. The estimate for how many cars the entire project can accommodate is upwards of around 200,000 cars daily.
