President Duterte has inaugurated a new six-toll road called the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 which is said to cut off travel time significantly from Valenzuela to Caloocan.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that the 5.65-kilometer elevated expressway that traverses Valenzuela, Malabon, and Caloocan is expected to benefit around 20,000 of motorists per day and the travel time will be reduced from one hour to about five minutes.
The new road will serve as an alternative southbound route to Metro Manila which bypasses Balintawak Cloverleaf and EDSA.
“This will definitely improve access and mobility in the area and result in greater socio-economic gains for our industries and communities. I am hopeful that the remaining portions of the NLEX Harbor Link Project will be completed within the next two years,” – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
Another project is the Segment 10 Exit Ramp to R-10 which is 2.7-kilometer long and is currently ongoing which is set to be completed in January 2020. This will reduce the travel time from NLEX to Port Area in Manila to 10 minutes.
