Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled Telemetry X, a groundbreaking ‘track connectivity’ concept set to revolutionize the future range of super sports cars produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES), citing recent milestones such as the Revuelto super sports car and the Lanzador fully-electric concept. Winkelmann stated that Lamborghini’s forthcoming supercars aim to deliver not just thrills but truly immersive driving experiences, with Telemetry X offering a glimpse into the connected services customers can expect in the coming years.
Telemetry X builds on the racing-inspired digital technologies introduced with the 2020 debut of the Huracán STO, Lamborghini’s first super sports car featuring a telemetry system accessible through the Unica app. The new concept anticipates an enhanced track driving experience through the integration of three systems developed in collaboration with Accenture: the Real Time Remote Garage, the Biometric Data System, and the Digital Co-Pilot.
Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer, underscored Telemetry X’s significance as a testament to leveraging motorsport experience for road-ready super sports cars. The Revuelto served as the ideal testbed for this technological demonstrator due to its unique qualities resulting from the incorporation of breakthrough technologies.
The Real Time Remote Garage, a web application utilizing 5G technology, provides drivers with real-time video recordings of their on-track performance and telemetry. This information is accessible to coaches worldwide, enabling remote coaching during driving sessions to offer immediate feedback and suggestions. The Remote Garage aims to elevate the track experience, fostering driver engagement, and improving performance in a user-friendly manner.
The Biometric Data System complements the experience by capturing the driver’s biometric data, including heart rate and stress level. This data facilitates comprehensive performance monitoring, offering valuable insights for refining training approaches.
These two systems synergize with the Digital Co-Pilot, a proactive voice assistant that analyzes both biometric and vehicle data. The Digital Co-Pilot provides real-time feedback to the driver during track sessions, including analysis of lap times, guidance on racing lines, braking points, and insights into the car’s performance on the track. This holistic approach aims to enhance the overall driving experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of the driver’s skills.
In essence, Telemetry X signifies a significant leap in connecting Lamborghini’s racing heritage with cutting-edge technology, promising a future where supercar enthusiasts can enjoy not only the thrill of speed but also a deeply immersive and technologically enriched driving experience on the track.
