There seems to be no break in the continuous fuel price increases. Today, gasoline sees the 7th straight week of hikes, and diesel longer at 8 weeks. July and August have proved quite a problem for those who may need to top up their fuel tanks and today is no different. As of his posting, most if not all pumps will already have the updated prices per liter reflected, and that’s up by PHP 0.30 for gas and PHP 0.70 for diesel.
Fuel price increase for gas on a 7-week streak, diesel goes up 8 straight weeks
No respite in sight, sadly. Today brings yet another fuel price increase for motorists, and though it isn’t as high as those before, cumulatively, we’ve already had a pretty significant amount added to the prices per liter. Gas and diesel vehicle owners won’t be too happy because we are seeing higher prices again this week, but sadly, there’s not much we can do.
Different brands and stations will always have different update times on their pumps as well. Caltex, as always, was early to apply the fuel price increase which they normally do as the clock strikes 12:00 AM. Others would do so a little bit later and these brands include Shell, Seaoil, Unioil, and Petro Gazz. These players update their prices at 6:00 AM.
As the brand’s common practice, Cleanfuel will update fuel prices later on in the day at 4:01 PM. For their loyal customers, this gives them more time to enjoy last week’s relatively lower prices per liter.
Given the current trend, we probably have to expect yet another fuel price increase next week. It is quite sad, but should that happen (again), it really is what it is. Many won’t be pleased, but regardless, do drive safely out there, everyone!
