Mercedes-Benz distributor Auto Nation Group Inc (ANG) has just launched its newest model. Specifically, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class 180 Avantgarde.
The all-new C-Class completes the “heritage” sedan lineup of Mercedes-Benz locally with the all-new E-Class and S-Class models launched earlier this year.
2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class 180 Avantgarde Details
This all-new C-Class is dubbed a “Baby S-Class”, and from the outside, it shows. The design language is very much similar to the S-Class, it has high-performance LED headlights, taillights, and DRLs. One of its defining features has to be the “bulging” hood that gives the front fascia a sportier and meaner look.
Over at the side are 18-inch alloy wheels with aluminum-finished beltline strips. The overall dimensions of the all-new C-Class are 4751mm long, 2033mm wide, 1440mm tall, and a 2865mm wheelbase. This makes this 5th generation model longer by 65mm, wider by 45mm, and an extra 25mm on the wheelbase.
Inside the C-Class, the “Baby S-Class” comparisons continue, the interior is adorned in premium Artico leather that comes in three color choices. At the heart of the interior is the dominating 11.9-inch infotainment screen that has an updated version of the Mercedes-Benz MBUX interface. The “Hey Mercedes” voice command system has also been upgraded, and the infotainment now also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As if the massive 11.9-inch screen wasn’t enough, the digital instrument panel is a whopping 10.25-inch unit. This instrument panel is also fully customizable with different designs depending on the drivers’ preference.
Other interior amenities include power-adjustable front seats with 4-way lumbar support, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a 64-color LED lighting system.
Under the hood of the C-Class is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, that puts out 170PS and 250Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. What makes the powertrain interesting is that it’s now “electrified”, the C-Class comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system that’s supposed to aid in performance and fuel economy.
When it comes to safety, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t scrimp. Aside from the usual anti-lock brakes, electronic stability program, and active brake assist, the sedan also has acceleration slip regulation, blind-spot assist, cruise control with variable speed limiter, adaptive brake lights, attention assist, pedestrian collision assist with active bonnet assist, active parking assist, 12 ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear, a reverse camera, and 7 airbags.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class 180 Avantgarde retails for PHP 3,890,000 and is available in all Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide. Also, sometime this year Mercedes-Benz will be bringing in a limited run of the AMG Line variant for the C-Class, so stay tuned for that.
