The Emgrand is Geely’s challenger in the hotly contested B-segment sedan market. It has its headlights squarely pointed at the Vios, City, Almera, and of course the MG5.

In terms of looks, the Emgrand sedan features a very modern but stately design, it gets a new bold grille that Geely dubbed “Energy Pulse”, flanking the grille are big LED headlights (Halogen for entry-level) accompanied by LED daytime running lights. At the back, is the full-width LED taillights, and over at the side are either 17-inch alloys or 15 inches for the entry-level version.

The top of the line Premium variant gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, while the entry-level variant only gets a 3.5 multi-info display. The power-adjustable driver’s seat and sunroof are also exclusive to the Premium variant

When it comes to power, all variants are equipped with a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated D-CVVT engine. It puts out 102PS and 142Nm of torque, transmission options are either a CVT or a 5-speed manual.

Safety is also a top priority for Geely, all Emgrand models come with dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, stability control, hill-start assist and tire pressure monitoring. However, the Premium model has added safety features such as front-side airbags, curtain airbags, reverse camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and speed sensing door locks.

There are slated to be 3 variants of the Emgrand, S (to be launched at a later date), Comfort, and Premium. So for now, only prices for the Comfort and Premium have been released.

Prices for the Emgrand are PHP 798,000 for the Comfort and PHP 908,000 for the Premium. Those who buy the Emgrand early will get an additional (limited offer) PHP 50,000 discount with 1 year free PMS.
