Beep cards now accepted in Family Mart

It’s finally happening. The stored-value card that was initially launched to unify the payment among public transportation systems in Manila is now branching out to retail outlets.

Beep card is now accepted in Family Mart. You can easily top up and check your balance at the counters. Also, you may also use the card to purchase available items in the store.

This will be just the first of many planned expansion of the stored-value card’s acceptance in different stores outside the train stations in Metro Manila. They are planning to use the Beep card as cashless payment for fast food chains too.

Tested kanina, nagload and bumili ng item sa Familymart. Works properly. At last, kahit paano, nagagawa na yung katulad na sistema sa Hong Kong na Octopus card. 😀

Hoping that it can be paired to virtual card using NFC enabled smart phone. So we can use smart phone in paying(via NFC) instead of physical cards.
