Here are the surprising numbers of 2021 motorcycle and bicycle-related Metro Manila road accidents

In another article we published, we looked at the number of Metro Manila road accidents involving 4-wheel-and-above vehicles from 2021. For this post, we’ll be looking at the numbers that the MMDA gathered for crashes involving motorcycles and bicycles. Now that traffic has returned to almost pre-pandemic volume, we should expect road mishaps to go up, too. Just to give you an idea of what we were dealing with last year, here is the information straight from the MMDA.

As with our previous article, we’ll be presenting the data according to total accidents per city, the types of accidents, causes, accident-prone times, and age groups involved in such crashes.

As we said before, awareness is key. The fact remains that whatever mode of transportation you take, no one is exempted from being involved in mishaps, as these numbers of Metro Manila road accidents have shown. Vigilance, awareness, courtesy, and safety must all be top of mind once we get moving, regardless of how many wheels we are taking.

Everyone’s, including our own safety, always starts in and with our own hands (and feet). Drive safely, and don’t be a statistic.
