The Peugeot 2008 was one of my favorite cars launched locally last year, while it’s new for PH the model was actually launched way back in 2019. As such the brand felt the need that it was due for an update, and that’s exactly what they did.
Updated Peugeot 2008
To usher in the new 2024 updated model of the 2008 is a slightly redesigned front fascia. The most obvious new change is the lighting cluster that features a 3 line vertical claw design. The LED headlights now come in 3 separate clusters, a new wider grille design, and the logo has been updated to the new shield design. Last is the newly designed unique alloy wheel design.
New interior features are a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a new standard 10-inch infotainment screen, and an updated steering wheel and materials. Furthermore, the new infotainment screen showcases the Peugeot i-connect system that is designed to recognize natural language voice recognition.
The new 2008 will get updated a list of updated engines, the range starts with the PureTech 100 and its 1.2-liter 3-cylinder which makes 100 hp. This engine comes solely with a 6-speed manual. Next up is the PureTech 130 which is a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder good for 130 horsepower. This version can be had with an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. Lastly, there’s the BlueHDi 130 and its 1.5-liter diesel 4-cylinder with 130 horsepower.
There is also an electrified option on tap for the new e-2008 which features a single motor setup that churns out 156 hp which is a bump from the previous 136 hp. It also has more range capacity which has been upped to 405 kilometers.
The current Peugeot e-2008 was just featured during the latest Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) and the current model 2008 only being on sale a year means it would take some time before we get our hands on the updated version.
