It seems Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has quietly updated the Toyota Hilux, the update includes more features and specs.
Only some of the variants are going to receive updates, the J and E variants for example will remain unchanged. However, the G now has a tailgate assist and Bedliner will come as standard. Next up is the Conquest, both the 4×2 and 4×4 variants now come with Toyota Safety Sense, giving features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control (for AT variants), and lane departure alert. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line Hilux GR Sport adds blind spot indicators with rear cross-traffic alert.
Of course, these updates come with a corresponding price increase, starting from PHP 18,000USD 306INR 26,015EUR 294CNY 2,232-PHP 49,000. It must also be pointed out that this price increase is not in response to the recent Congress resolution removing the excise tax exemption for pickups.
