Geely seems to be on a continuing rampage as far as sales go; more specifically, of the Coolray. As one of its earliest models to go “global”, Geely’s well-received subcompact crossover has continued to increase sales numbers since its release in 2018. Five years hence being sold in over 40 countries, another milestone was reached with 800,000 units being sold worldwide at the end of 2023.
The following and faithful of the Geely Coolray have only continued to grow since it blasted its way into the global market. After last year’s sales numbers came in, it has officially become one of the best-selling models in the brand’s vehicle lineup. In the Americas, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia Pacific, consumers have gravitated towards this specific model when purchasing in the B-segment of SUVs or crossovers.
In Eastern Europe, a staggering 190% increase in sales was seen in the last year. Saudi Arabia’s sales have also grown by an 18.8% increase compared to the preceding year. In the Philippines alone, a total of 3,022 Coolray units were sold in 2023, and as we speak, 2024’s figures are growing still.
Given an increase in interest and demand, and following the Coolray’s expansion and release in more countries including Chile, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico, we can only expect to see more of them on the road, locally and internationally.
We did mention that it’s been 5 (going 6) years since we first laid our eyes (and wallets) on the Geely Coolray. That said, it is ripe for an all-new model. There’s no definite word yet on if and when one such model might make its way into the PH market, but if sales have any say in the matter, not to bring it here would be folly.
Until such time, we can only expect a climb in the sales ladder for the Coolray. That much, we can all safely presume.
