Xiaomi EV has achieved another significant milestone at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, setting a new prototype lap record with its SU7 Ultra Prototype. In a surprising display of progress and engineering, the prototype clocked an astonishing lap time of 6:22.091, eclipsing its previous record by more than 20 seconds.
Back in October, the SU7 Ultra Prototype posted a competitive 6:46.874, but Xiaomi returned to the “Ring” with significant upgrades and delivered one of the fastest laps ever recorded. The updated time now places the SU7 Ultra Prototype third overall on the Nürburgring leaderboard, ahead of several high-profile hypercars.
For comparison, the Mercedes-AMG ONE, considered one of the most advanced hypercars on sale has a lap time of 6:29.090, while the Porsche 911 GT2 RS equipped with the Manthey Performance Kit managed 6:43.300. Unlike these production vehicles, the SU7 Ultra remains in prototype form, but the performance benchmark it has set is notable.
Xiaomi’s result highlights the company’s rapid development efforts and growing presence in the high-performance EV space. While the SU7 Ultra Prototype, in its current form, is not yet commercially available, its Nürburgring performance suggests that the brand is serious about competing at the highest level of automotive engineering and motorsports.
However, those interested in the most race-ready SU7 Ultra can consider the Track Package or Nürburgring Limited Edition variant, which features a host of race-ready upgrades and boasts a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of just 7:04.957, which is a production EV lap record.
