Lopez Jaena Street in Pasig to be car-free every Sunday; starting May 22

Last Sunday (May 22, 2022), Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto launched a new initiative to promote the movement of people and other forms of mobility.

Pasig City Car-Free Initiative Details

Mayor Vico Sotto announced that starting that Sunday onwards, Lopez Jaena Street in Barangay Sumilang Pasig will be exclusive to pedestrians, bicycles, and other forms of “light personal mobility”, this program takes effect between the hours of 6 am-6 pm.

Lopez Jaena Street is now declared a “people’s street” every Sunday, and those who wish to exercise, play, or simply mingle with other people are free to do so without any traffic disturbances. Mayor Vico Sotto has also announced that three other barangays in the city are requesting to implement the same program.
