The rumors are true! The next generation Ford Territory is “here”, in a manner of speaking. Ford has yet to reveal the newest iteration of their great-selling crossover to the public, which isn’t until this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), but as of right now, you can already reserve your unit online from the Ford PH website. Let’s have a look at what new, shall we?
Here’s what’s new with the next-gen Ford Territory
Being an all-new generation, the new Ford Territory is a far cry from the outgoing model. From an exterior that was dominated by rounded edges, the new model is sharper and more angular. One-piece headlights have also been replaced with a split design, with DRLs mounted on top and the actual lighting units on either side of the bumper. The overall look on the front is also much stronger and more rugged. Ford is billing this as a small “SUV” after all.
The floating roof design has also been done away with, and the greenhouse is now more prominent from the front, rear, and quarter glass panels. The character and accent lines on the fenders and doors also keep up with the more streamlined look. As for the rear, the taillight assemblies do take on a similar design to that of the Everest, and along with 18″ alloy wheels, make the Territory look bigger (which it now is).
On the inside, you’ll find a totally redesigned dashboard and cabin. What truly catches the eye is the Integrated 7″ digital gauge cluster which provides real-time information along with the 12″ colored infotainment touchscreen that allows both driver and passenger easier visibility and access to various controls of the Territory.
Other features include a wireless charging pad, a rotary e-Shifter and electric parking brake switch, dual-zone electronic air temperature control, as well as a 10-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat and 4-Way Manual Adjust for the front passenger seat. Seats being mentioned, perforated partial leather seats with two-tone peacock blue and domino color combination is the upholstery of choice.
Perhaps the biggest draw of the next-gen Territory is its standard safety equipment and driver-assist technologies. These include a Blind Spot Information System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Open Alarm, Electronic Power-Assisted Steering, Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist, and the practical and useful novelty of all, Active Park Assist which allows owners to pull into or out of parallel and perpendicular parking spots with ease.
“Finally, the long wait is over. The next-generation Ford Territory has officially arrived in the Philippines, and we are excited for its public reveal happening very soon,” says Mike Breen, Managing Director of Ford Philippines. “The next-gen Territory is set to redefine the 5-seater SUV segment in the country once again. We are confident that the major upgrades and enhancements equipped in the next-gen Territory will resonate with first-time car buyers, young affluent professionals, and starting families who want to own each moment of their driving adventures.”
Curious? Interested? The good news is you can simply click on this link and reserve your own, brand-new, Ford Territory unit before its public launch and reveal. How much, you ask? It starts at PHP 1,335,000 and also comes with a 5-year warranty for a worry-free ownership experience.
The Ford Territory has sold very well, and for all the right reasons. With this next-generation release, with all its added features and tech, and its pretty fair pricing, we can expect its following to grow even more, for sure.
