2023 Hyundai Stargazer, Creta get impressive ASEAN NCAP safety scores

We all know that Hyundai has been relentless since its “reentry” into the Philippines. Headlining their lineup is the small crossover Creta and their 7-seater MPV the Stargazer. For those who may have been wondering if they provide as much safety as they do good looks (and value at that), look no more. Both passed their ASEAN NCAP tests with flying colors.

Hyundai Stargazer and Creta get 4 and 5 stars for safety, respectively

Being a 7-seater that’s meant more for families and bigger groups, the Stargazer got a score of 4 out of 5 stars. Split into 4 major categories, namely Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Safety Assist, and Motorcycle Safety, Hyundai’s newest MPV got scores of 31.21, 14.48, 12.04, and 8.75, respectively. These results were enough to garner an impressive 80%.

As for the Creta, it did a tad bit better. Based on the abovementioned categories, the small SUV got scores of 34.72, 15.56, 14.08, and 11.42. The result was a perfect 5/5 score on the ASEAN NCAP crash test.

Among the New Car Assessment Programs (NCAP), that of the ASEAN region is considered the strictest. Having seen the level of safety and protection that both the Stargazer and Creta can provide for their occupants as well as people and other vehicles around it, we can say that Hyundai is definitely on the right track.

Though the units subjected to testing were from Indonesia, the fact that features such as two front airbags, anti-lock brakes, Isofix seat anchors, and electronic stability control come standard on one or both, plus the addition of optional features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, mettle and metal have been proven safe in these models.

Apart from value, safety has become a primary factor for Filipinos when choosing to buy any vehicle. Make no mistake that the interest in these two models from Hyundai is strong, and those who already have either (or both) in their garage can rest a whole lot easier given the results of the ASEAN NCAP tests.

Well done, Hyundai!
