
Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) has appointed Byung Goo Ko as its new President, effective July 27, 2026.
Ko succeeds Jiho Son, whose tenure focused on expanding HMPH’s dealer network and model lineup over the past four years. He is expected to lead the brand into its next phase of growth.

“The Philippines has always been a valued market for us at Hyundai Motor Company, and we see so much potential for growth,” Ko said. “With a constantly changing automotive landscape, it’s now more important than ever to strengthen our brand presence and to inspire consumer confidence.”
Ko has over two decades of experience at Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), having held roles in international market development, sales operations, and global business strategy. He has worked in strategic positions across Asia Pacific, Europe, India, and the Middle East during his career.

With him at the helm, HMPH looks forward to building on its momentum and pursuing new opportunities in the years ahead,” said HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete.
Under Ko’s leadership, HMPH said it will continue to focus on improving the car ownership experience and providing mobility solutions for customers nationwide.
