Mercedes-Benz Philippines has launched “Welcome Home: Drive to History,” an exhibit marking the brand’s 140th anniversary and the inauguration of a Benz Patent-Motorwagen Replica at the Presidential Car Museum in Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

The event drew guests from automotive and lifestyle media, Mercedes-Benz customers, dealer partners, and corporate partners. It centered on the inauguration of the Benz Patent-Motorwagen Replica, a recreation of the vehicle introduced by Karl Benz in 1886 and widely regarded as the first automobile.

The exhibit also highlights the brand’s history in the Philippines, where Mercedes-Benz vehicles have served several Philippine presidents. The featured presidential vehicles are a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL used by President Corazon C. Aquino, a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL Guard used by President Fidel V. Ramos, a 1993 Mercedes-Benz S 600 used by President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, and a 1993 Mercedes-Benz S 600 Limousine (V 140) used by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines said the exhibit is part of its effort to preserve automotive history and support education and cultural programming tied to the brand’s history.

The Benz Patent-Motorwagen Replica will remain on public display at the Presidential Car Museum until December 2026.

The exhibit also includes the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ AMG Sedan, an electric luxury sedan presented alongside the Patent-Motorwagen replica to represent the span between the brand’s first automobile in 1886 and its current electric vehicle lineup.
