Toyota drops teaser photo on all-new 2024 Land Cruiser Prado

Recently, Toyota revealed the next generation GX to the world with a lot of fanfare. It’s important to remember though that the Lexus GX is actually based on a legendary nameplate, the Land Cruiser Prado, and with that the brand is giving us a glimpse into that model as well.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Last week, the brand posted a teaser photo of two vehicle silhouettes with the caption “With 65 years of heritage, you can choose to slow down or reinvent yourself. We chose the latter.”

Based on the photo you can clearly see that they are referencing the Land Cruiser Prado and its upcoming new model. Why this is significant because this will mark the return of the Land Cruiser model to the USA market.

Apart from that, not much is known about the Prado as of yet, but we can surmise that it may share a lot of mechanical components with the already-debuted Lexus GX. The Prado will most likely be a more mainstream version of the GX given that Lexus pushes more toward a luxury market.

The Prado will likely be offered with a turbo diesel option, and the best bet would be the recently announced mild-hybrid option of the 1GD-FTV 2.8-liter found in the Hilux. As for the platform, the Prado will be using the TNGA-F.

No exact timing on a full reveal and launch has been announced yet, but it could be soon. This is also exciting news for the Philippine market because we have both versions of the Land Cruiser, so an all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado could be making its way here eventually.
