The votes have it, and the women have hailed the Ford Ranger as the best 4×4 and pick-up truck. In a panel consisting of 63 female motoring journalists spanning 45 different countries, the Ranger was put atop a pedestal in this year’s Women’s World Car of the Year awards.
Ford Ranger is apparently the pick-up of choice for the ladies
A lot of criteria served as the basis for the award, and the Ford Ranger ticked all the boxes for the panel of judges. From its safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment, and value for money, the Ford Ranger met and exceeded their expectations. The panel’s statement reads “This is a reliable, stylish, and charismatic pick-up. It moves with ease over any terrain. It’s as efficient as an off-roader, but more practical thanks to its cargo box.”
“Having worked on the new Ranger right from the beginning, I know how much customer feedback was poured into the truck to ensure it was fit for work, family, and play. And, as a mother, I can fully appreciate the truck’s practicality and versatility. Thank you to the Women’s World Car of the Year jury for this award, which recognizes Ranger’s global appeal and ultimate capability,” said Natasha Milner, platform program manager.
More of the Women’s World Car of the Year awards have also been handed down across different categories that were voted in by the panel of all-female judges. These are the models that took the proverbial bacon home:
Best Urban Model: Kia Niro
Best Family SUV: Jeep Avenger
Best Large Car: Citroën C5 X
Best Large SUV: Nissan X-Trail
Best Performance: Audi RS 3
Best 4Ă—4 & Pick-Up: Ford Ranger
