Fuel price INCREASE tomorrow, June 18, bad news for gas, even worse news for diesel

Celebrations and hopes for a streak of fuel price rollbacks are ending very quickly. By tomorrow, June 18, the prices of both gasoline and diesel are going up, with the latter getting a more significant increase. Last week saw a reduction of prices per liter but this week brings pretty bad news for users of both fuel types as they go up by PHP 0.85 and PHP 1.75, respectively.

Pretty big fuel price hike scheduled for tomorrow

Splits in fuel price adjustments have become the “norm” in the past months, with one going up while the other goes down. The most recent and simultaneous rollback came last week when prices went down, but tomorrow’s increase will more than recoup last week’s decrease. As mentioned, expect gasoline to go up by PHP 0.85 and diesel by PHP 1.75.

Most brands will adjust their fuel prices as the clock strikes 6:00 AM. Stations of Caltex, Shell, Petron, Seaoil, UniOil, and many others will reflect the updated prices per liter by the time mentioned above. While the majority will increase early, Cleanfuel will do so later in the day, per its usual practice. They will be applying the price hike at 4:00 PM.

We hope you all had a restful weekend, folks. And like you, we totally lament tomorrow’s horrid news for fuel prices.
