Honda has announced its participation in the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, where it will showcase a range of four-wheeled concept models and racing vehicles. The event will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture from January 9 to 11, 2026.

Honda’s booth will carry the theme “Honda Sports DNA,” highlighting how technologies and expertise developed through top-level motorsports have been transferred into its production cars. The booth will feature a red-based design, reflecting Honda’s long-standing focus on performance engineering and driving engagement. Images of the booth have been released, although the vehicles shown may differ from the actual exhibits.

Among the main vehicles on display is the Civic Type R HRC Concept. Based on the Civic Type R, Honda Racing Co. (HRC) has developed this concept to further refine driving performance through race-oriented specifications.

Also making its appearance is the Prelude HRC Concept. Based on the Prelude released in September 2025, this concept model features HRC-developed parts and focuses on enhancing driver control and engagement.

Honda will also debut the Civic e:HEV RS Prototype at the show. This marks the first public appearance of the Civic e:HEV fitted with the new sporty “RS” grade. Following the Prelude, it adopts Honda’s new “Honda S+ Shift” control technology, designed to improve responsiveness and driving enjoyment.

In addition to concept and production-based models, Honda will feature race vehicles at its booth. This includes the new GT500-class Honda HRC Prelude-GT, which is scheduled to compete in the 2026 SUPER GT series. An e-motorsport racing simulator will also be available, using the actual NSX-GT race car that competed in SUPER GT until the 2019 season.
