Isuzu unveils production D-MAX EV with specs

One of the more interesting and talked-about concepts of the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show was the Isuzu D-Max EV concept. The concept is now a reality, as the brand has just confirmed and unveiled the production model version.

The full production of the Isuzu D-Max EV looks somewhat subdued and less futuristic than the concept, but it still has some subtle cues that differentiate it from the fuel-powered variants. The EV variant gets blue highlights around the grille and headlights, while there are also some EV badges around the vehicle.

Moving inside, the D-Max EV retains an identical setup and configuration to the diesel-powered models, with little to no changes at all. The biggest and most significant update is, of course, the engine.

Powering the Isuzu D-Max EV is a 66.9 kWh battery EV motor in a dual motor setup, meaning the D-Max EV is always all-wheel-drive. The motor produces 189 hp and a torque output of 325 Nm, full range is 361 km. Charging takes 10 hours with an AC outlet, and an hour from 20% to 80% with the quicker DC chargers.

Isuzu expects to be able to produce and export the D-Max EV by the end of the year.
