Subaru has opened its booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, showcasing a lineup that reflects the brand’s theme, “Driving the Subaru Difference.” The exhibit includes the world premieres of two STI concept models which is its centerpiece.

The booth is divided into two themes: the Performance Scene, highlighting Subaru’s driving enjoyment, and the Adventure Scene, emphasizing outdoor exploration. Both are designed to express Subaru’s core values of “Enjoyment and Peace of Mind” while reinforcing the brand’s human-centered approach to vehicle development.

In the Performance Scene, Subaru unveiled two new concept models—the Performance-E STI concept and the Performance-B STI concept.

The Performance-E STI concept is a battery electric vehicle that previews Subaru’s next-generation performance direction. It combines aerodynamic design, brand heritage, and practicality in a spacious and driver-focused interior. Subaru says the model incorporates new technologies aimed at delivering intuitive and engaging driving experiences.

The Performance-B STI concept represents Subaru’s continued commitment to internal combustion performance. Powered by a traditional engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, it aims to balance power and everyday usability while offering customers a wider range of performance options.

As far as performance figures go, Subaru did not give any further details, but the Performance-B STI does seem to look production ready.
Let’s just hope these concepts do come to fruition in order to return the STI nameplate.
