Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) marked the 70th anniversary of Japan-Philippines relations by supporting the B.LEAGUE Manila Games 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 9 and 10.

The two-game series brought Japan’s professional basketball league closer to Filipino fans while highlighting basketball’s role in strengthening people-to-people ties between Japan and the Philippines.
The games featured Filipino players Dwight Ramos of Levanga Hokkaido and AJ Edu of the Gunma Crane Thunders. Edu also received the Toyota Choice MVP award.

“Basketball is one of the shared passions that bring our communities together,” said Masando Hashimoto, President of TMP. He added that Toyota’s long-standing automotive operations in the Philippines have also contributed to local manufacturing, employment, skills development, and the growth of the local automotive industry.
TMP also hosted the Toyota Challenge Zone, where attendees took part in interactive basketball activities and had the chance to win prizes.
