It was two weeks ago that the Ford Territory was made available for online reservations. Today, the covers have been taken off and everyone can head over to MIAS to see it in the metal.
Next-gen Ford Territory comes in 2 variants
The Ford Territory was first introduced in the PH market in 2020. Three years hence, the next generation has finally arrived on our shores. It carries what Ford calls the “Progressive Energy in Strength” design philosophy, and it does look much more different from the previous model.
The front has a large honeycomb grill flanked by its signature DRLs. Lower on the bumper are the LED headlight units; its new location expands lighting coverage and gives off a stronger overall look as well. The rear further highlights Ford’s new design, making use of 3D floating graphics that add a more youthful vibe to the new crossover. Rounding up the exterior are 18″ alloy wheels for the Titanium variant, and a 19″ set for the Titanium X. The latter also comes standard with a panoramic sunroof.
Inside, you will be treated to a likewise all-new cabin. The combination of white and other color options also creates a unique aesthetic contrast within the interior design. Comfort and function are maximized through perforated and ventilated leather seats for Titanium X, with a 10-Way Power Adjust for the driver’s seat and 4-Way Manual Adjust for the passenger seat for both variants. Both the Titanium and Titanium X also come equipped with Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control.
There are enough seats for 5 inside the Territory, and luggage will not be a problem as its trunk can hold up to 448 liters of cargo.
Other convenience and tech features included are a large 12-inch central touch screen, spread to the sides, incorporating a 7-inch (Titanium) or 12-inch (Titanium X) digital instrument cluster that supports the driver with easier access to controls of all vehicle functions, a rotary e-Shifter that helps change gears with ease while providing access to audio and other function controls in just a click, and a hands-free liftgate for the Titanium X variant.
Both Territory variants also come with Wireless Charging, USB Type C and Type A charging, Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability, a center console with two cup holders, an adjustable tray, and a windscreen-mounted USB port for a dashcam.
Under the hood for both variants is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, putting out about 160 HP and 248 Nm of pull, and is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with a wet-type dual-clutch. There are four selectable drive modes including Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain to provide drivers with confidence and enhance their driving experience across a variety of terrains.
Advanced Driver-Assist Technologies and safety features included are Active Park Assist, a 360-degree camera, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go (for Titanium X), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection.
The Next-Generation Ford Territory comes in six colors which include Blue Metallic, Crystal Pearl White (exclusive to Titanium X), Lustrous Grey, Panther Black, Ruby Red (exclusive to Titanium), and Star White (exclusive to Titanium). The price of the Territory Titanium is PHP 1,335,000 while the Titanium X is available at PHP 1,599,000.
