PEUGEOT has revealed the Polygon Concept, a forward-looking prototype that previews the brand’s upcoming technologies and design direction. The vehicle, first introduced virtually in Polygon City within the Fortnite universe, serves as a testbed for innovations that will enter production from 2027 onward, including their proprietary Hypersquare steering control and Steer-by-Wire technology.

At the heart of the Polygon Concept is the Hypersquare, an all-new steering interface that replaces the traditional wheel. Combined with Steer-by-Wire, the system removes the mechanical link between the steering and wheels, relying entirely on electronic control. This setup delivers more precise handling and allows adaptive steering response — with quicker manoeuvring at low speeds and refined precision at high speeds.

The system provides responsive steering feedback while filtering out unwanted vibrations, aiming to enhance comfort and driver connection. The technology, already proven in the aerospace sector, is set to debut in a production PEUGEOT vehicle by 2027.

The Polygon Concept also reimagines PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit layout. The Hypersquare steering features four touch pods for key controls, allowing the driver to operate all major functions without taking their hands off the wheel.

Replacing traditional dashboard displays, a Micro-LED panel projects all driving information directly onto the windscreen. The display measures 24 cm wide and 74 cm high—roughly equivalent to a 31-inch screen. Drivers can customise what’s shown based on drive mode (Cruise, Fun, or Hyper) or when parked, creating an immersive experience that connects lighting, animations, and information between the vehicle’s interior and exterior.

The concept introduces a new interpretation of the brand’s three-claw light signature, now arranged horizontally and composed of Micro-LED elements. These lights animate the front and rear with synchronized graphic displays and color effects, highlighting the vehicle’s dynamic character.

A Micro-LED screen positioned on the C-pillar also provides charge status next to the pop-up charging port. The overall body design combines pure geometric lines with a feline stance, hinting at future PEUGEOT styling. At the rear, you can even see styling inspiration from the iconic Peugeot 205.

Bright colour accents appear on the body, wheels, seats, and even the Goodyear tyres, which feature laser engraving and coloured sidewalls for a unique visual effect. These tyres also integrate Goodyear SightLine technology, providing real-time data on tyre and road conditions directly to the vehicle’s display.

Inside, the Polygon Concept’s reworked cabin layout provides more room for front passengers. The minimalist dashboard features modular storage for personal items, such as bags or headphones. The removal of the B-pillar and the expanded glass canopy allow more natural light to enter the cabin.

Seating features a 3D-printed shell with single-piece, moulded foam, offering both comfort and a distinctive design. The interior surfaces are finished with forged textile made from recycled materials, including fabrics from deconstructed PEUGEOT vehicles.

Sustainability extends throughout the car with Recycled plastics (R-PET) used for seat shells and wheel covers. The seat design is simplified into three main components to reduce weight and complexity. Many parts, such as the Hypersquare and dashboard panels, can be easily replaced or customized, extending the vehicle’s lifespan.

PEUGEOT positions the Polygon Concept as a vehicle of multiple identities, easily configurable to reflect the driver’s personality or needs. Three sample versions demonstrate its versatility:

Urban – “Compact and refined, suited for city use.”

Player – “Sporty and performance-inspired.”

Explorer – “Rugged and adventure-ready.”

These configurations were first showcased inside Fortnite’s Polygon City, bridging the concept’s connection between digital and physical design.

The PEUGEOT Polygon Concept embodies the brand’s next chapter — merging advanced digital interfaces, adaptable design, and sustainability, and it’s doing it through a video game.
