Here are the many cool, possible configurations of the new Toyota Tamaraw, AKA, the IMV 0
Much news has been published about the inevitable return of the Toyota Tamaraw. After a few months since it was first discussed with PH President Marcos, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda himself, confirmed the news last August. Yes, it will make a comeback, but the platform on which it will sit makes it more versatile than it ever was. Ahead of the Japan Mobility Show, here’s a taste – more of a look – at how it could look and be used when it finally returns to the Philippines.
The IMV 0 platform will make the Tamaraw more of a workhorse than a “family car”

The Tamaraw will be shedding the looks that we have grown to know. This time, it will be more of a workhorse than a trusty ol’ “family car” or “UV”. Using the Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle platform or IMV 0, its possible uses and configurations make it far more versatile after its long-awaited revival.

The major feature of the IMV 0 is that it employs more of a pickup truck-type model. That said, it only has a 2-seater cab. Its dimensions, however, allow it to take on different configurations from retaining a flatbed to something as big as an ambulance medical bay. Yes, you heard that right. More relevant to our country’s current state of transportation, it can also be adapted as a “modern” PUV.

For those wondering, the Tamaraw will sit on the IMV 0’s dimensions which are as follows: 5,300mm Length X 1,785 mm Width X 1,740 mm Height. Its wheelbase measures an impressive 3,085 mm. The tale of the tape can explain the versatility it offers, and at this point, its applications are, in a manner of speaking, endless.

The Japan Mobility Show 2023 kicks off on October 26 and will run until November 5, and Toyota is set to preview the Tamaraw/IMV 0 all through the show dates.
