This is the refreshed 2024 Isuzu D-Max, and it looks absolutely mean

While Isuzu PH is set to launch the D-Max Limited 10, Thailand just revealed a refreshed model of their great-selling pickup. Given that it’s not an all-new model, changes have been made to its looks both inside and out. That said, let’s have a look at what we can eventually (likely?) get should Isuzu bring this minor model change to the PH.

Updated Isuzu D-Max looks meaner on the outside, better on the inside

Just looking at the photo above, you’ll easily be able to tell the pre-facelift from the refreshed D-Max. Just look at that grill! Opinions have thus far been divided, but the wider, gaping grill only gives a lot more muscle to the truck. Add the redesigned bumper with its sharper edges and “badass” may be an understatement.

Other additions are the Bi-LED-equipped headlights, the “Triple Armor” taillight assemblies, as well as new (and different) alloy wheel designs across the entire variant range.

Inside the changes to the D-Max include a new and larger gauge cluster, complete with a 7-inch multi-information display (MID). A new 9″ infotainment touchscreen has also made its way into the list of new additions; it’s integrated into the MID of the gauge cluster, and also supports wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple Carplay. Finally, and depending on the variant, CoolMax seats come standard. CoolMax is the brand’s upholstery “treatment”, a heat-reflecting coating if you will. That should be perfect for the tropical climate in Southeast Asia, yes?

Under the hood sits two engine choices. Depending on the variant, you get either the 1.9-liter RZ4E that makes 148 HP and 350 Nm of torque. The other is a DDI Blue Power engine. This 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX mill has 190 HP and 450 Nm of pull. Mechanically, the only new addition to the D-Max is an Electronic Diff-Lock System, something that’s been missing in our local offerings. Should this make it to the PH, let’s hope it also comes standard.

With only a couple of months left in the year, would it be possible that Isuzu PH will bring the refreshed D-Max in? As we mentioned earlier, the Limited is very well on its way already, but hey, dropping a big new model release would be a pretty awesome holiday gift for fans of Isuzu and the D-Max, right?
