Xiaomi EV has officially introduced its first-ever SUV, the Xiaomi YU7. Designed from the ground up, the YU7 is positioned as a high-performance luxury electric SUV, marking a significant step beyond the SU7 sedan. While it shares Xiaomi’s design language, the YU7 boasts unique styling, enhanced practicality, and advanced technology, catering to premium buyers.

Xiaomi says the YU7 features a bold SUV silhouette complemented by Xiaomi’s signature “waterdrop headlights,” but compared to the SU7, it is now redesigned with an open, hollowed-out structure connected to the front hood vents. This feature not only enhances lighting performance with a 180-degree ultra-wide beam but also aids in aerodynamic efficiency. At the rear, the redesigned halo taillights create a muscular look with downward-angled corners, giving the SUV a more assertive stance.

A new flush door handle system enables automatic deployment when users approach the vehicle. The handles remain fully recessed when not in use, improving aerodynamics and aesthetics.

Aerodynamic refinements are extensive. The YU7 incorporates 10 air channels and 19 vents, including an active grille with 100 adjustable louvers and a hollowed spoiler. These updates help achieve a drag coefficient of Cd 0.245. According to Xiaomi, this figure results in a 59 km range gain under China’s CLTC test cycle compared to pre-optimization figures, placing it at the top of its class for aerodynamic efficiency.

Inside, the YU7 offers a minimalist yet tech-forward cabin. The steering wheel and center console feature a clean design, complemented by light-colored leather upholstery that creates a premium feel. The SUV includes a 16.1-inch central touchscreen and dual rear entertainment screens, similar to the SU7.

However, the standout feature is the new Xiaomi HyperVision Panoramic Display. This triple Mini LED array uses curved projection to display information across a 1.1-meter-wide section of the lower windshield. The system offers 108 PPD resolution and up to 1,200 nits of brightness, aiming to replicate an “aircraft cockpit” experience. A remote control panel is also included for added convenience.

The top-spec YU7 delivers up to 680 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, with a top speed of 253 km/h. The SUV uses a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension setup, along with adjustable dampers and Xiaomi’s smart chassis system. It also features Brembo four-piston fixed calipers and a turning radius of just 5.7 meters, striking a balance between handling precision and daily drivability.
Variants and Range:
The YU7 is offered in three variants:
Standard: Rear-wheel drive, 96.3 kWh battery, 835 km range (CLTC)
Pro: All-wheel drive, 96.3 kWh battery, 760 km range
Max: All-wheel drive, 101.7 kWh battery, 770 km range
Xiaomi claims the YU7 Standard achieves the longest range among all electric SUVs with a sub-100 kWh battery and leads its segment in the mid-to-large-size pure electric SUV category. The Pro and Max variants also lead in range among all-wheel-drive electric SUVs.
The Xiaomi YU7 will be available in nine colors with Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, and Lava Orange as the highlights. Global pricing and availability details are expected to follow in Xiaomi EV’s upcoming regional announcements.
