The Toyota Corolla Altis in its current model generation has been around for quite some time now. That’s not to say that the Altis is old or feels old in any way, but the competition has been fierce so the Altis has been left behind in terms of equipment and features.
Thailand gets updated Toyota Corolla Altis
Over in Thailand, the Altis comes in 4 variants and each one has been updated. Actually, the model range is quite similar to ours except for the fact that they get 1.6, 1.8, or hybrid engine options while we only have the 1.6 or the Hybrid. Nonetheless, here is the list of features and parts that have been updated on the Altis.
1.6 G CVT

- Added 2 USB charging ports for the 2nd row

HEV GR Sport
- Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control System
- New 12.3-inch TFT MID Screen
- New Gloss Black GR Sport design grille
- New 17-inch GR Sport design rims
- New LED foglights design
- EPS tuning for the steering (GR Sport Model only)
- Adjustable suspension, new tuning, Shock Absorber, customized only for GR Sport models.
- Add body kit only GR Sport model
- Change the gauge design, Full Digital, size 12.3 inches
- Can be adjusted to 4 styles Casual / Smart / Tough / Sporty
- Added heads-up display, and a new color TFT UI.
- Change the 9-inch touchscreen audio system.
- Add Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Support

Looking over the list it’s quite obvious that the brand actually did change or tweak a lot for the 2023 Toyota Altis, even the base model gets some nifty new features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, there are new Toyota Safety Sense features that can be found higher up the model range.
Lastly, the most interesting has to be the Toyota Corolla Altis GR Sport Variant, particularly the EPS (Electric Power Steering) tuning which could mean better steering feel for sporty situations, not to mention the new tuning for the suspension and shock absorber to enable better handling.
While all this is good and cool, we are now left to wonder if the PH will get these updates soon. and when we do will it be just as comprehensive? We wouldn’t want to get the short end of the stick.
