Toyota Philippines brings its first hybrid crossover under the Corolla series, the new Corolla Cross. It is the fifth Toyota vehicle in the country to showcase the Toyota Safety Sense.
The Corolla Cross comes in two variants: a 1.8 V HV and a 1.8 G CVT. Both are equipped with a 1.8L engine with an electric motor and Atkinson Cycle for the hybrid variant. The latter has three available driving modes—Eco, Power, and EV— which gives the driver more control on the road and is more fuel-efficient and environmental-friendly.
As a city crossover, the Corolla Cross features a double trapezoid front grille, defined lines that run from the side to the front of the aerodynamic cabin, and the subtle “Double C” character lines along with the vehicle’s side profile. The hybrid variant, however, has an LED light, curtain daytime running lights, and a subtle blue accent to the bi-beam LED headlamps.
The 5-seater vehicle has a wide and spacious cabin space, ample legroom for passengers, thinner pillars, and rear quarter windows for outward visibility. For its hybrid version, it has leather seats and a retractable tonneau cover for the rear trunk space.
All variants feature Smart Entry and Push Start System, power-adjustable seats with auto fold for the side mirrors, power windows, speed-sensing door locks, rear cameras, 7 SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and 3-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts for the driver and all passengers.
The hybrid variant has two rain-sensing windshield wipers, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, front and four rear clearance sonars, and a 7-inch multi-information display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support while the G CVT variant has 2 rear sonars.
Under the Toyota Safety Sense, the hybrid variant features pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, and automatic high beam, blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Corolla Cross is now at Toyota dealerships nationwide. Prices are as follows:
