Remember the rigged safety test result of the Raize? well, it seems Toyota just re-tested it again along with partner Daihatsu and the results have come out positive.
Toyota Raize Re-Test Results
Daihatsu voluntarily conducted an in-house collision test to confirm the safety of the Raize/Rocky HEV, both vehicles were able to pass the re-test according to the brand, this test was done to address the safety concerns of customers.
In order to confirm the safety of the DNGA platform, they were subjected to the UN-R135 standard side-impact collision test. This required a test vehicle to be crashed into a pole at 32 km/h. The test confirmed that the occupant impact is legal standard on both the left and the right side, the door did not come loose on impact, and the fuel leakage that was observed is below a prescribed value.
There is still one small problem though, while the vehicle (thankfully) does pass the test, it was done in-house. This means that before sales and shipment of the Raize/Rockt HEV resume the test must be confirmed by the safety certification authority.
