MG Motor Philippines kicked off the Multiply Greatness Tour 2026 at the Trinoma Activity Center on August 27, 2026, bringing its expanding electrified lineup closer to Filipino motorists through a nationwide roadshow.

Making its Philippine debut at the event was the MG S5 EV, an all-electric compact SUV. Unlike most compact electric SUVs, the S5 EV sends power to the rear wheels through a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces 125 kW (170 PS) and 250 Nm of torque. Drivers can choose from Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Custom drive modes.

A 49 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery powers the vehicle and supports DC fast charging up to 120 kW. Under suitable conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 90% in about 24 minutes, while AC charging tops out at 7 kW. MG rates the S5 EV’s range at 415 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. Other convenience features include scheduled charging, battery thermal optimization, regenerative braking with Low, Medium, Strong, and Adaptive settings, One-Pedal Drive, and Vehicle-to-Load capability that lets the vehicle power compatible external devices.

Dimensions are 4,476 mm long, 1,849 mm wide, and 1,621 mm high, with a 2,730 mm wheelbase. Cargo space is rated at 453 liters, expanding to 1,441 liters with the rear seats folded and underfloor storage included.
Exterior equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels with aero fins, projector LED headlights, Racing Flag-design LED daytime running lights and taillights, gloss black door mirrors, a rear spoiler, and roof rails rated to carry up to 75 kilograms.

Other cabin features include automatic climate control, Smart Entry, an electronic parking brake with Auto Brake Hold, multiple USB ports, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a PM2.5 cabin filter.

On safety, the S5 EV comes with MG Pilot driver assistance systems covering Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Door Opening Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Rear Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent Headlight Control, Intelligent Speed Assistance, and a Driver Monitoring System.
