BYD Cars Philippines under ACMobility has unveiled the BYD Seagull, a new electric vehicle (EV) designed to make EV ownership more accessible to Filipinos. With a focus on affordability, practicality, and modern features, the Seagull aims to be an ideal choice for first-time EV buyers in the country.
Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability. “The BYD Seagull represents our dedication to creating a more sustainable future. We want to Electrify Your First and invite everyone to be part of this journey into the future of mobility,” Liu said.
The BYD Seagull has a compact design, making it well-suited for urban driving. Measuring 3,780mm in length, 1,715mm in width, and 1,580mm in height, it offers easy maneuverability with a tight turning radius of 4.95 meters. Its sleek exterior includes LED bar tail lamps, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, and 16-inch alloy wheels, ensuring the vehicle is practical and visually appealing.
Inside, the Seagull prioritizes comfort and technology. The cabin features two-tone leather-accented seats and a 10.1-inch rotating infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offering seamless connectivity for drivers. A 7-inch LCD cluster provides essential driving information, and a wireless charger is available for added convenience. The vehicle also offers ample cargo space of up to 930 liters when the rear seats are folded, adding to its practicality and convenience.
The Seagull is powered by an electric motor with 74 hp and 135 Nm of torque, delivering a range of 300 kilometers on a single charge. The EV supports both DC and AC charging, with a maximum rate of 30kW for DC fast charging. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 130 km/h, making it a solid option for city driving. Additional features include vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality and three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—to suit different driving preferences.
Safety is also a priority for the BYD Seagull. The vehicle comes equipped with a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, four airbags, and cruise control, alongside a range of other features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and hill start assist. These systems are part of BYD’s DiPilot suite, which enhances the driving experience through intelligent assistance.
Priced at P898,000, the BYD Seagull offers a competitive option for eco-conscious drivers. It comes with a 6-year or 160,000-km bumper-to-bumper warranty, along with an 8-year or 160,000-km warranty for the BYD Blade Battery. Available in three colors—Delan Black, Apricity White, and Sprout Green—the Seagull represents an affordable, stylish entry into the electric vehicle market in the Philippines.
