2018 Honda Odyssey introduced in the Philippines

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has introduced the newly refreshed 2018 Honda Odyssey, which further refines the luxury minivan.

For both the EX-V Navi and EX variants, the new Odyssey comes with enhanced exterior and interior features. The New Odyssey EX-V Navi a new front grille design in Dark Chrome, and a sportier front bumper with LED Fog lights. The EX-V Navi variant looks more up-to-date with its Dark Chrome door handles and smoked LED guide type tail lamps. The New Odyssey EX on the other hand now adopts the sporty Aero exterior styling. This includes a new front and rear bumper design, halogen fog lights, as well as a Platinum front grille. Completing the new look of the New Odyssey are the redesigned 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels for both the EX and EX-V Navi variants respectively.

In terms of the interior, the EX-V Navi variant, with its customizable 7-seater capacity (2-2-3) layout and full leather interior, now also receives additional updates such as new Black Wood and Silver Trim panels, as well as a new large armrest with a center console for added storage which can be found in the first row. The familiar captain cradle seats with ottoman and holders can be found in its second row which allows for more comfortable and personalized second-row seating.

An 8-seater capacity (2-3-3) layout with fabric seats is also available with the EX variant, which integrates a 60:40 split bench seat that can accommodate 3 passengers comfortably on the second row. On the third row, both variants of the New Odyssey are equipped with Magic Seats that can accommodate passengers as well as additional cargo with its 3-way split reclining structure, allowing the portions of the seats to be individually folded, reclined, or stowed under the floor to provide more cargo room and flexibility.

Both variants now come in standard with a Smart Entry with Push Start system which was previously available exclusively for the EX-V Navi. A 7” Touch Screen display audio system with Bluetooth for hands-free telephone (HFT) functionality and audio streaming come in as a standard for both variants, with the EX-V Navi having the additional Navigation, 9” Rear Entertainment System with DVD and HDMI playback capability as added features.

The New Odyssey is also equipped with a variety of safety features for both variants. Features such as 6 Airbags (dual front airbags, front driver and passenger side airbags and side curtain airbags), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks and Multi-View Reverse Camera all come standard for both variants. For the EX-V variant, additional safety and convenience features were added such as Multi-View Camera System, Blind Spot Information (BSI), Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM) as well as an improved Smart Parking Assist System with parking sensors, which combine to further help improve maneuverability whenever pulling out from tight spaces.

The new Odyssey is powered by the Earth Dreams Technology 2.4 liter DOHC i-VTEC engine coupled with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. This set-up dishes out 175 ps @ 6,200 rpm and 225 N-m of torque @ 4,000 rpm.

The New Odyssey is now available at all Honda Car dealerships with a suggested retail price of Php 2,449,000 for the top of the line EX-V Navi variant and Php 2,039,000  for the EX variant. The New Odyssey will also be available in four colors:

  • Platinum White Pearl (+ Php20,000)
  • Premium Twinkle Black Pearl – exclusive to the EX-V (+ Php20,000)
  • Super Platinum Metallic
  • Crystal Black Pearl – exclusive to the EX
