Some legends are born out of grudges, that’s exactly what happened to Ferruccio Lamborghini. At first, he was an Italian industrialist who made tractors, at the same time though he was a bonafide car guy who at the time had a couple of Ferraris.
The story goes that he famously complained to Enzo Ferrari himself that the gearbox of his car could be better, with Mr. Ferrari simply stating that Ferrucio stick to his tractors.
That insult sparked the birth of Lamborghini the carmaker.
Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend
A story like that can’t be passed up for a movie right? well thankfully someone listened because a biopic is set to premiere on November 18, 2022, about the legendary Lamborghini (both man and brand).
The movie stars Frank Grillo as Ferruccio Lamborghini. The film offers a glimpse into his early life and finding success in producing farming equipment, like tractors. Eventually, it leads to the brand’s first ever-car debut at the Geneva Motor Show, where it pulled the covers on the 350 GT.
One particularly odd part of the trailer (which we’ll post below), shows Ferruccio drag-racing Enzo which in itself sounds improbable. What makes it even weirder is it was a Countach vs. a Mondial, the Mondial was actually launched a few years after Enzo Ferrari passed away. Furthermore, both cars aren’t even in the same class, the Countach is a “balls to the wall” Supercar while the Mondial was an entry-level Ferrari.
In any case, fans of the brand and petrol heads alike would probably enjoy the movie just on the fact that it will be filled with numerous classic and maybe even contemporary supercars.
